In the beginning there was light and that light fills the heart and soul of Neovi Vlassopoulou Wales.

Her Greek and Scottish heritage is a marriage of cultures, leading to unique expression in her paintings.

Neovi expresses feelings and impressions through her individual and bold oil paintings.

Since a child the contrast between light and dark has played heavily on her. Starting off her life in Greece, full of light, vibrancy and zeal that dreams are made of, to being raised in her beloved Scotland where she is moved by the dark, storminess and dreich weather, these two cultures and climates influence her artistic practice.

Neovi's art comes from the depths of her heart, which is as deep as the sea- at times glittering and shimmering like a summers day waves rippling up on the shores of the Greek island, calm and serene, to then dark, unapologetic and bold thrashing powerful waves of the west coast of Scotland.

Neovi's language is that of speaking through paint, transmuting emotions and experiences into art that captures your heart and moves your soul.

Nature's seasons changing between life to death and death to life plays an influential role in all stages of her artistic career to date.

Neovi graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design with a BA Honours in Fine Art in 2015. Since 2011 she has  exhibited her works across the globe in countries such as Greece, India, Mexico, Cambodia and of course Scotland.

Taking a piece of Neovi's artwork home with you is like bringing a piece of sunshine home with you, a blessing for years to come.
